Anyang - Seoul Knights 83-80 Fourth-ranked Seoul Knights (16-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Anyang (21-8) on Sunday. Anyang managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. Anyang looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Omari Spellman (207-1997, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-1996) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Five Anyang players scored in double figures. American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Seoul Knights' coach Hee-Chul Chun rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anyang maintains first place with 21-8 record. Defending champion Seoul Knights keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Anyang are looking forward to face Goyang (#6) in Daegu in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Seoul Knights will play on the road against Suwon KT in Busan and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win. The former international forward Woosuk Lee (196-1999) helped adding 18 points. The former international center Yoongi Ha (203-1999) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds and Hungarian-American power forward Jarrod Jones (207-1990, college: Ball St.) scored 19 points. Four Suwon KT players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mobis Phoebus moved-up to third place. Suwon KT at the other side keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. Mobis Phoebus will meet at home KCC Egis (#5) in the next round. The former international center Seung-Hyun Lee (201-1992) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) helped adding 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Dae-Heon Lee (198-1992) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Goyang have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. KoGas at the other side keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Goyang will meet at home league's leader Anyang in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Second ranked LG Sakers faced 4th placed Seoul Knights. Guests from Changwon (17-12) smashed host Seoul Knights (16-15) 85-61. LG Sakers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. LG Sakers' coach Sung-Won Cho felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Bukyung Bae (200-1989) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jae-Hyun Oh (185-1999) added 16 points in the effort for Seoul Knights. LG Sakers maintains second place with 17-12 record having four points less than leader Anyang. Defending champion Seoul Knights keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. LG Sakers will play against KoGas (#9) in Inchon in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
